Job summary

AAA Northeast is seeking a Janitorial Specialist to maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe environment across our facilities. You will be responsible for cleaning restrooms, break rooms, and common areas to ensure a presentable and safe workplace for employees and visitors.

Schedule: Monday–Friday 7:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. Education: High School Diploma or GED; 1+ year janitorial experience; OSHA training required upon hire. This role supports a diverse, community-focused team at AAA Northeast.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of commercial janitorial experience required.
• Must complete OSHA required training for custodians upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
• Empty trash and recycling bins and ensure proper disposal.
• Night staff also dusts and clean surfaces, including desks, windows and furniture.
• Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
• Cleaning of cafeteria equipment before and after breakfast and lunch rush.
• Night staff organizes tables and chairs in cafeteria at days end.
• Follow all safety protocols and use cleaning chemicals and equipment properly.
• Spot cleaning of door and window glass.
• Have an understanding of inventory levels and replenishment needs.
• Ensure all cleaning equipment is maintained and in good working condition.
• Report any maintenance or repair needs to the Facilities Services Manager.
• Assist with setting up and breaking down for events and meetings.
