Job summary

AAA Northeast is seeking a Janitorial Specialist to maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe environment within our facilities in Providence, RI. You will perform cleaning duties to keep restrooms, break rooms, and common areas presentable for employees and visitors.

The role offers Monday–Friday daytime hours, with responsibilities including stocking supplies, waste disposal, and assisting with setup for events. OSHA training is required, and prior commercial janitorial experience is valued.

Qualifications

• 1+ years experience in commercial janitorial work.
• Must complete OSHA required training for custodians upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors
• Empty trash and recycling bins and ensure proper disposal. Night staff also dusts and clean surfaces, including desks, windows and furniture
• Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper
• Cleaning of cafeteria equipment before and after breakfast and lunch rush. Night staff organizes tables and chairs in cafeteria at days end
• Follow all safety protocols and use cleaning chemicals and equipment properly
• Spot cleaning of door and window glass
• Have an understanding of inventory levels and replenishment needs
• Ensure all cleaning equipment is maintained and in good working condition
• Report any maintenance or repair needs to the Facilities Services Manager
• Assist with setting up and breaking down for events and meetings
