# Janitorial (4637)Louisville - Louisville, KY 40210## OverviewSalary Range$19.00 - $19.00 HourlyJob ShiftGraveyard## Description## Position SummaryThe Janitorial Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and organized food manufacturing facility. This position plays a critical role in supporting food safety, employee safety, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and SQF/Food Safety standards by ensuring production, warehouse, office, restroom, breakroom, and common areas remain clean and inspection-ready at all times. The Janitorial Technician must work independently, follow established sanitation procedures, and support a culture of cleanliness and continuous improvement throughout the facility.---## Essential Duties and Responsibilities### Facility Cleaning & Sanitation* Clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, breakrooms, conference rooms, offices, hallways, and common areas.* Sweep, mop, scrub, and maintain floors throughout the facility.* Vacuum carpeted areas and clean floor mats as needed.* Remove trash, recyclables, and waste materials from designated collection points.* Maintain cleanliness of entrances, walkways, and exterior areas surrounding the facility.* Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces, including door handles, handrails, tables, vending machines, and shared equipment.* Restock restroom and breakroom supplies, including soap, paper towels, toilet paper, sanitizer, and cleaning materials.### Food Manufacturing & GMP Support* Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety, and sanitation procedures.* Maintain sanitary conditions in production-adjacent areas to support food safety compliance.* Assist with sanitation preparation activities before audits, inspections, and customer visits.* Report any sanitation concerns, pest activity, facility damage, or food safety risks immediately to management.* Ensure cleaning chemicals are properly labeled, stored, and utilized according to SDS requirements.### Facility Inspections* Conduct routine facility cleanliness inspections and identify areas requiring attention.* Perform documented floor and facility inspections throughout the shift to ensure cleanliness standards are maintained.* Address safety hazards such as spills, debris, trip hazards, or unsanitary conditions immediately.* Support corrective actions resulting from audits, inspections, or sanitation findings.### Equipment & Supply Management* Operate janitorial equipment including floor scrubbers, vacuums, mops, pressure washers, and other cleaning tools.* Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and notify supervision of replenishment needs.* Ensure janitorial closets and storage areas remain organized and compliant with safety standards.* Maintain equipment in safe working condition and report maintenance issues promptly.### Safety Responsibilities* Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).* Comply with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, lockout/tagout awareness, and chemical handling procedures.* Participate in safety meetings and required training programs.* Promote a safe work environment and immediately report unsafe conditions.### Additional Responsibilities* Support special cleaning projects and deep-cleaning activities.* Assist other departments during facility events, audits, or operational needs.* Perform additional duties as assigned by management.## Qualifications# Qualifications## Required Qualifications* High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.* Minimum 1 year of janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, sanitation, or industrial cleaning experience preferred.* Ability to work independently with limited supervision.* Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness standards.* Ability to read and understand cleaning procedures, safety instructions, and chemical labels.* Reliable attendance and punctuality.* Ability to communicate effectively with employees and management.## Preferred Qualifications* Previous experience in a food manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environment.* Knowledge of GMPs, food safety practices, and sanitation programs.* Experience operating floor scrubbers, pressure washers, or industrial cleaning equipment.* Experience preparing facilities for food safety or quality audits.---# Physical Requirements* Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout a 10-12 hour shift.* Frequently lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.* Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb stairs, and reach overhead.* Ability to work in varying temperatures throughout the facility.* Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals and janitorial equipment.* Ability to perform repetitive cleaning tasks while maintaining quality standards.---# Core Competencies* Attention to Detail* Accountability* Food Safety Awareness* Reliability* Safety Focused Mindset* Time Management* Teamwork* Continuous Improvement* Professionalism* Organization Skills
