Job summary

Jjwws is seeking a diligent custodian to clean and maintain offices and facilities, performing sweeping, mopping, trash removal, dusting, and supply restocking.

The role requires strong communication, the ability to follow detailed instructions in English, and the ability to pass a background check, possess a valid driver’s license, and complete a drug screen. The candidate must lift up to 50 pounds and work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Sweeping, mopping or scrubbing, and polishing floors.

• Dusting equipment, furniture, or fixtures; polishing metal fixtures or trimmings.
• Providing supplies.
• Maintain safe work practices and environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job description

Cleans and keeps in an orderly condition working areas and washrooms, or premises of an office, or commercial or other establishment.

• Duties involve a combination of the following: Sweeping, mopping or scrubbing, and polishing floors
• Removing chips, trash, and other refuse
• Dusting equipment, furniture, or fixtures; polishing metal fixtures or trimmings
• Providing supplies
• Maintain safe work practices and environment
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Other Responsibilities

• Reports any conditions requiring maintenance attention or repair to immediate supervisor.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements

• Previous custodial experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Physical demands include continuous movement, including frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, reaching, and other use of hands.
• Be able to lift 50 pounds
• Frequent exposure to chemicals such as cleaning solutions; potential exposure to blood and other bodily fluids.
• Ability to work alone or with minimal supervision.
