Overview
SAYCARE LLC is seeking a dedicated and reliable Janitor to join our Environmental Services team. The Janitor will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout our healthcare facility, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent time management skills, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of cleanliness in a healthcare setting.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize patient rooms, hallways, restrooms, waiting areas, and offices to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Ensure the proper disposal of waste, including biohazard and medical waste, following facility protocols.
- Perform floor care tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming.
- Dust and clean furniture, fixtures, and equipment regularly.
- Replenish supplies, such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels, in designated areas.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored.
- Follow infection control and safety protocols to reduce the spread of germs and ensure the safety of all individuals within the facility.
- Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or facility concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
- Assist with special cleaning projects as assigned by the Environmental Services Manager.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional and positive attitude when interacting with patients, staff, and visitors.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in cleaning or janitorial work, preferably in a healthcare or medical environment, is a plus.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and cleaning techniques.
- Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and a high standard of cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and a friendly demeanor.
- Must be able to stand, bend, and lift up to 30 pounds.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Certification in infection control or OSHA safety training (preferred but not required).
- Experience with floor care equipment and techniques (preferred).
- Level 2 Background Check.
Work Conditions
- Work hours may include nights, weekends, and holidays, based on facility needs.
- Must be able to work in a hospital or clinical environment, including exposure to cleaning chemicals and potentially hazardous materials.
- This position may require extended periods of standing, walking, and physical labor.
