Job summary

Covenant Woods in Mechanicsville, VA is seeking a Full-Time Janitor to clean floor coverings, dispose of trash, and maintain the highest standards of cleanliness with minimal supervision.

Shift: Monday - Friday 3:00PM - 11:30PM. You will work in a retirement community, interact with residents, and be part of a family-like team with a welcoming workplace.

Qualifications

• 3 years of housekeeping/janitorial experience, preferably in healthcare.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and proper use of supplies/equipment.
• Ability to follow instructions and prepare areas for events.
• Must have a VA driver's license and be able to stand/walk most of the day.
• Ability to read, write, and follow written directions.

Responsibilities

Job Details: Job Location: Covenant Woods - Mechanicsville, VA, Salary Range: Undisclosed, Covenant Woodsis a Continuing Care Retirement Community, located off of Mechanicsville Turnpike, is seeking a Full-Time Janitor with the ability to clean floor coverings and ensure trash is properly disposed of, and clean all areas of the physical facility to the highest standards with minimal supervision.

Experience/Skills/Requirements:

• Must be knowledgeable of housekeeping methods and the use and care of cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Knowledgeable in using floor cleaning equipment, and washing and drying machines desired.
• Must be able to follow instructions and set up common areas for various events.
• 3 years of housekeeping/janitorial experience, preferably in a Health Care setting preferred.
• A current state of VA driving license.
• Work requires standing and walking for most or all of the workday.
• Use of the hands is required.
• Stooping, kneeling, sitting, crouching, crawling, twisting, and reaching are frequently required.
• Must be able to lift and carry an average of 10 pounds up to a maximum of 20 pounds; push or pull an average of 30 pounds.
• Must be able to read, write and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
