Job Description

The Norwegian Club of San Francisco is a non-profit, private organization dedicated to promoting fellowship among the Norwegian-American community in the San Francisco Bay Area.

We are actively seeking a reliable and committed cleaning staff member for our beloved club who will be responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly environment. This position is perfect for a university student looking for a flexible job while pursuing his/her studies.

Responsibilities:

• Keep buildings in clean and orderly condition.
• Perform heavy cleaning duties such as cleaning floors and shampooing rugs.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks.
• Organize custodial closets and spaces.
• Maintain working condition of cleaning equipment.
• Clean, stock and supply designated facility areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning, etc.).
• Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities.
• Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects.
• Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs.
• Do appropriate laundry and ironing for table linens from the dinner service.

Job Qualifications:

• Previous experience in cleaning, maintenance, or other related fields.
• Ability to handle physical workload.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills.

Skills:

• Active listening, great communicator both orally and on digital forms such as email.
• Independent and self-starter.

General Working Hours:

• Dinners are every Thursday evening and cleaning should be done within 1-2 days after the dinner, can be on the weekends.
• Generally, the full cleaning takes from 4-8 hours depending on the size of the event.
• From time to time cleaning is needed before and/or after special events with working hours between 4-6 hours for each event. Time will be mutually agreed upon between the employee and the staff manager.

Compensation:

• $30 per hour.
