Job summary

Goodwill North Central Texas is hiring a Janitor for the Army Reserve facility at Grand Prairie. You will perform daily cleaning, dusting, restroom sanitation and floor care across a government site, following established methods.

The role requires reliability, attention to detail, ability to work with minimal supervision, and adherence to federal safety and disability guidelines. Benefits meet federal requirements; uniform and equipment provided.

Job Title: Janitor - Army Reserve

Location: Grand Prairie Armed Force Base --- 599 Camden Rd., Grand Prairie, Texas

Salary: $16.61 per hour

Work Hours: FT (40 Hours Week), 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., Monday through Friday.

General Job Duties: Follows established cleaning methods in performing daily duties such as dusting (including ceiling fans and air conditioning vents), cleaning/polishing glass and metal surfaces, cleaning restrooms and sweeping, and mopping and vacuuming floors. Uses buffing machine to buff floors. Picks up and disposes of trash and litter on the grounds, including removal and disposal of various types of recyclable materials. Requests and collects necessary supplies and equipment and transports them to work areas. Cleans equipment and returns to designated area after use. Adheres to Goodwill and departmental policies and procedures. Reports any work or area not cleaned by shift's end to immediate supervisor. Performs periodic or situational duties as assigned by immediate supervisor. Reports broken, damaged, and inoperative equipment, lights, and/or furnishings to immediate supervisor.

Skills/Qualifications: Ability to communicate well, read, write and follow written and/or oral instructions. Preference for performing routine and repetitive duties. Have an eye for detail cleaning. Neat appearance. Able to work with minimal supervision. Previous experience in Janitorial services or related work is preferred. Must meet disability qualifications set by Ability One/Source America.

Physical Requirements: Stands, stoops, walks and lifts throughout working day. Must be able to periodically lift up to 45 lbs. with assistance and stand/walk for an 8-hour shift. Requires operation of mechanical equipment such as vacuum cleaners and buffers. Visual acuity to detect cleanliness. Works in non-air-conditioned warehouses and heated/air-conditioned offices. Works in dust and with the smell of cleaning chemicals. Sufficiently mobile to move between buildings at a government facility in all types of weather. May be exposed to all weather conditions while being transported and/or going from one job site to another. Transportation between buildings during the workday to perform duties will be provided.
