Ahtna, Inc. seeks a diligent janitorial worker in Kentucky to perform floor care, dusting, trash removal and related cleaning tasks under supervision of the Project Manager and/or Supervisor.

You will follow a daily schedule, handle cleaning chemicals safely, and maintain a clean, safe work environment across assigned facilities. Required are a High School diploma or GED, ability to read and follow written and oral instructions, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass background checks

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must read, write and comprehend English.
  • Valid Driver’s License and proof of insurance; ability to travel to local facilities.
  • Ability to pass background check and/or Govt. security clearance.
  • Must pass pre-employment criminal background screen and drug test.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to demonstrate good customer relations skills.

Responsibilities

  • Sweep and dust mop uncarpeted floors.
  • Vacuum carpets and rugs.
  • Spray clean and buff floors.
  • Wet mop and deep clean carpets.
  • Clean under raised floors and fixtures.
  • Trash removal and container cleaning.
  • Follow daily schedules and report issues.
  • Respond to paging systems and radios.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Job description

Works under the supervision of the Project Manager and/or Supervisor. Maintains 95% standards of cleanliness within assigned tasks, which includes: hard floors, carpeted floors, removal of trash, complete low and high dusting programs. Must be able to utilize cleaning products, chemicals, vacuums, mops, wringers, dust tools, and floor machines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Sweep/dust mop uncarpeted floors
  • Vacuum carpets and rugs
  • Spray clean and buff floors
  • Wet mop
  • Deep clean carpets and rugs
  • Clean under raised floors
  • Responsible for trash removal and cleaning of containers.
  • Assures that all areas are cleaned as per daily schedule.
  • Must respond to overhead paging system, and radio.
  • Complete floor care as scheduled.
  • Must perform low and high dusting of assigned areas, which includes but not limited to: vents, lights, telephones, desks, ledges, windows and furniture.
  • Sweep exterior entry ways and walkways, clean exterior signs and plaques.
  • Complete weekly checklist and submit to supervisor.
  • Report broken items or equipment for repairs.
  • Must use discretion when handling confidential materials.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Comply with work schedules and company policies and procedures.
  • Adheres to established “Universal Precautions/Blood borne Pathogen” standards.
  • Follow established procedure methods for handling and mixing chemicals.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or GED required.
  • U.S. citizenship may be required.
  • Must possess skills to read, write and comprehend English.
  • Valid Driver’s License and proof of current automobile insurance and the ability to travel to local facilities.
  • Ability to pass a background check and or Govt. security clearance.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background screen, and drug test.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to demonstrates good customer relation’s skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of janitorial methods, practices, materials, tools, occupational hazards and safety precautions of the janitorial work.

Physical Demands
