Position Summary

The Janitorial / Facilities Cleaning Employee is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and orderly work environment throughout the facility. This position performs routine cleaning of office areas, common areas, restrooms, breakrooms, floors, and other assigned areas according to an established cleaning schedule. The position requires attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work independently while completing assigned tasks in a timely manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Daily unless otherwise noted)

Office & Common Areas

• Empty and reline wastebaskets and trash containers.
• Vacuum high-traffic areas and spot-vacuum offices as needed.
• Vacuum walk-off mats.
• Vacuum and mop hard-surface floors.
• Clean and sanitize drinking fountains and water coolers.
• Vacuum offices on a weekly basis.
• Dust horizontal surfaces up to approximately 70 inches, including:
  • Sills
  • Ledges
  • Moldings
  • Shelves
  • Picture frames
  • Ducts
  • Radiators and similar surfaces
• Maintain common areas in a clean, orderly, and presentable condition.

Restrooms & Breakrooms

• Clean and sanitize toilets, urinals, sinks, and other restroom fixtures.
• Disinfect high-frequency touch points using approved disinfectants.
• Clean the inside and outside of microwaves and the exterior of refrigerators.
• Clean glass and mirrors.
• Empty trash and other waste containers, replace liners, and sanitize containers as needed.
• Refill dispensers and supplies, including:
  • Napkins
  • Soap
  • Tissue
  • Paper towels
  • Trash liners
  • Toilet seat covers
• Vacuum hard-surface floors.
• Mop and sanitize hard-surface floors.
• Vacuum air diffusers and return vents on a scheduled basis.

Work Schedule

• Services will be performed 5 days per week.
• Daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning responsibilities will be completed according to the established facility cleaning schedule.
• Employee is expected to maintain consistent cleaning standards throughout the facility.

• Ability to reach surfaces up to approximately 70 inches high.
• Ability to safely perform cleaning tasks throughout the facility.

Performance Expectations

• Keep assigned areas consistently clean and sanitary.
• Complete scheduled cleaning tasks without excessive supervision.
• Follow all company safety procedures and chemical-handling requirements.
• Report maintenance issues, damaged equipment, spills, leaks, or other facility concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
• Maintain cleaning supplies and notify management when supplies need to be replenished.
• Take pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and professional workplace.

Follow all safety directives and protocols at all times and help identify potential hazards or violations that should be addressed to ensure personnel and facility safety are maintained.
