Job summary

DAUGHTERS OF CHARITY is seeking a Full-Time Janitor to support daily upkeep and safety of the Menands, NY campus. The role reports to the Facilities Director and requires reliability, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or in a team.

Prior custodial experience and a valid driver’s license are preferred. The schedule is Monday–Friday, with some weekends and holidays required; physical duties include lifting up to 50 lbs and lengthy standing/walking.

• Must be physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform standing/walking duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning and light maintenance tasks such as sweeping, dusting, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming, and surface washing.
• Maintain the general cleanliness and upkeep of assigned areas.
• Perform commercial laundry duties.
• Trash removal and waste management.

Come Join Our Team! The Daughters of Charity, provides a safe, welcoming home for the retired Sisters of the Daughters of Charity Ministries. Our team plays a vital role in creating an environment where Sisters feel respected, through independent living, assisted living and memory care.

We are currently seeking a Full-Time Janitor to support the daily upkeep and safety of our campus in Menands, NY. This role reports to the Facilities Director. We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented individual who is comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. Previous experience in facilities or custodial work is preferred. Candidates must also possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

What You’ll Do

• Perform routine cleaning and other manual tasks
  • May include sweeping, dusting, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming and washing surfaces
• Maintain the general cleanliness and upkeep of assigned areas
• Perform commercial laundry duties
• Trash removal

Schedule: Monday - Friday, some weekends and holidays required

Physical Demands: Must be physically able to efficiently perform the duties of the position, which may involve the following: standing and walking over 2/3 of the day, lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing, bending, reaching, and stooping for 1/3 to 2/3 of the day.
