Job summary

The Daughters of Charity is seeking a Full-Time Maintenance Technician to support daily upkeep and safety on our campus in Menands, NY. The role reports to the Facilities Director and requires reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities include general maintenance and minor repairs, monitoring building systems, preventive maintenance, grounds care, snow removal, and on-call participation.

Qualifications

• Experience in facilities or maintenance or similar duties.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and basic repairs across buildings (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting).
• Monitor and troubleshoot HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems and equipment.
• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance on building systems and facilities.
• Conduct grounds and landscape maintenance (mowing, trimming, leaf removal).
• Snow and ice removal from porches, entrances, and walkways; apply ice melt as needed.
• Participate in the Facilities Department on-call rotation.
• Work independently and within a team; adapt to changing priorities.
• Maintain professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
