Job summary

Nesco Resource in Waverly NY seeks a Janitor / Facility Custodian to maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the car auction and reconditioning facility, including offices, restrooms, breakrooms, and production areas, ensuring a safe, presentable environment for employees, customers, and vendors.

The role involves daily cleaning tasks, floor care, waste disposal, basic maintenance, and assisting with vehicle prep as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous janitorial or custodial experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand or walk for extended periods.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Must work independently with attention to detail and safety.
• Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and SDS is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize offices, restrooms, break areas, and common spaces daily.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors throughout the facility, including bays.
• Empty trash and recycling and ensure proper waste disposal.
• Maintain cleanliness in vehicle prep and detail bays.
• Assist with cleaning and preparing vehicles for auction areas when requested.
• Follow safety procedures and report hazards immediately.
• Support event or auction day setups and cleanups as required.

$17.00 per hour

Position Summary:

The Janitor is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of the car auction and reconditioning facility. This position ensures that all work areas—including offices, restrooms, breakrooms, and production areas—are kept clean, safe, and presentable for employees, customers, and vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize offices, restrooms, break areas, and common spaces daily.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors throughout the facility, including the reconditioning and auction prep areas.
• Empty trash and recycling bins and ensure proper waste disposal.
• Maintain cleanliness in vehicle prep and detail bays, ensuring walkways are clear of debris or spills.
• Clean windows, walls, and surfaces as needed.
• Restock restroom and breakroom supplies (paper products, soap, etc.).
• Perform minor maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs and reporting any facility repairs needed.
• Assist with cleaning and preparing vehicles for auction areas when requested.
• Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and report hazards or unsafe conditions immediately.
• Support special event or auction day setups and cleanups as required.

Qualifications:
