Job summary

Cox Automotive in Lakeland, FL is seeking a dedicated janitorial/custodial associate to keep our facilities clean, safe, and well-maintained. You will be responsible for daily cleaning, trash removal, restroom upkeep, and basic building maintenance to support a professional auction site.

The role requires a HS diploma or GED and 3 years of related experience or an equivalent combination. A valid driver's license is needed; occasional overtime may be required.

Job description

Job Responsibilities:

• Daily cleaning and disinfecting of high-touch surfaces
• Clean and pick up trash/debris from parking lots and exterior trash and recycling cans.
• Clean and maintain restrooms.
• Vacuuming and mopping to maintain clean auction house floors.
• Maintain all buildings, property and equipment for the site.
• Ensure all buildings are kept clean.
• Empty and clean wastebaskets and trash containers.
• Restocking restrooms and office supplies
• Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such. Actively participate in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor, i.e., moving furniture, unloading and storing supplies, etc.
• May be required to work overtime as business needs dictate.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field.
• OR the right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline;
• OR 5 years' experience in a related field
• Safe driver's needed; valid driver's license required

Preferred:

• Good communication and organizational skills required.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear.
• Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb.
• Medium strength. Ability to lift 1-50 pounds.
• Vision abilities required include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Custodial duties

USD 18.17 - 27.31 per hour

Compensation:

Hourly pay rate is in the range of $18.17 - $27.31/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Benefits:

Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
