Job summary

The Salvation Army in Topeka, KS seeks a dedicated janitor to maintain clean, safe facilities and assist with light maintenance. You will perform routine cleaning, manage supplies, and help with outside tasks as needed.

This full-time role requires a high school diploma or GED and the ability to work with diverse groups. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus; a valid driver's license is preferred.

• Experience: Janitorial and maintenance experience preferred but not required
• Bilingual preferred - English and Spanish

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, scrub and vacuum hallways, stairs, restrooms and office space
• Empty all trash, break down cardboard

• Advise direct supervisor of janitorial and building supply needs
• Provide routine outside maintenance
• Remove litter and cultivate flowers as assigned
• Follow schedule for cleaning windows, furniture, and floors polishing
• Set up furniture for meetings as required
• Assist with unloading and put away of donations received
• Assist with seasonal activities and assistance

Job Objective: Maintain property and grounds accordance with acceptable standards of safety, cleanliness and appearance. Properties include building, grounds and equipment serving the building.

Essential Functions:

• Sweep, mop, scrub and vacuum hallways, stairs, restrooms and office space
• Empty all trash, break down cardboard

Driving:Employee must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside. Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business.
