Canlan Sports is seeking an Ice Maintenance Person (non-ticketed) to perform proactive maintenance and ensure timely and safe ice rink upkeep. The role focuses on ice resurfacing, edging, and general facility maintenance, supporting a clean, safe, and well‑maintained venue for our multi-sport complexes.
You will work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, with responsibilities spanning ice depth checks, dasher board refurbishment, arena glass work, janitorial duties, and record-keeping.

The Ice Maintenance Person is a pro active and hands on individual who performs general maintenance to ensure facility upkeep and regular flooding of ice rinks is completed in a timely and safe manner Their primary responsibilities include ice resurfacing and edging operating the Ice Resurfacer janitorial work and general maintenance of facility
Perform maintenance tasks in accordance with local building and fire codes Responsible for Ice Maintenance tasks including Ice Resurfacer operationEdger operationIce depth measurementIce choppingspuddingLevelling the IceIce PaintingDasher Board system repairArena Glass replacementHockey net refurbishmentExecute maintenance and repair of facility fixtures and componentsJanitorial duties as assigned These may include janitorial checklists vacuuming auto scrubbing waxing and buffing in line with established floor care proceduresEnsure that entrances grounds and parking lot are kept clean clear and safe includingProperty & grounds cleanupGrass cutting and edgingSeasonal snow and debris removalPerform minor maintenance on facility and ice maintenance equipment includingIce Resurfacer safety check clean and waxSafe blade changes and grease machine as neededMaintain appropriate checklists records and reports including Ice Resurfacer sign out safety check
Completed high school education or equivalent preferred Valid drivers license preferred
Previous experience training and operation of ice resurfacing equipment Willingness and ability to work flexible hours evenings and weekends Approachable and team orientated with great communication skills Demonstrated strong mechanical aptitude preferred Trade or Janitorial experience is an advantage Organised self motivated and proactive
