Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of experience desirable.
• Must pass: written test; agility test, criminal history background check, drug screen, physical exam and psychological exam.
• Must have a valid Texas driver’s license; TCOLE jailer certification within first year; must meet minimum standards for enrollment and licensure with TCOLE; must complete Physical Readiness Testing Program.

Responsabilités

• Booking and processing of incoming and outgoing prisoners.
• Feeding prisoners.
• Supervising the daily cleaning of the facility.
• Maintaining jail security.
• Responding to and reporting incidents within the jail.
• Classifying prisoners as required.
• Taking fingerprints.
• Moving prisoners throughout the facility.
• Logging and writing incident reports.
• Handling violent inmates, including physical confrontations.
• Handling intoxicated/prisoners under the influence of drugs or other substances.
• Handling mentally ill prisoners.
• Observing suicidal inmates and responding to suicide attempts and medical emergencies.
• Responds to fire alarms, fights fires and evacuates prisoners safely.
• Conducts headcounts and security checks; attendance is essential.
