Job summary

Weld County is seeking a Control Center Technician to monitor CCTV and electronic devices, regulating entry/exit for authorized personnel in the jail. The role requires rotating 12-hour shifts (6am and 6pm) with day or night schedules determined by a yearly bid.

Mandatory pre-employment screenings include interview, background check, polygraph, drug screen, and ErgoMed. A high school diploma or GED is required, along with strong English communication and incident documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 19 years of age.
• Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written English.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, procedure, and operating manuals.
• Ability to operate telephones; computer terminal, keyboard, photocopier, and scanning instrumentation; and two-way radios.

Responsibilities

• Provides support to deputies to maintain safety, security and order within the Weld County jail.
• Monitors and provides authorized entry/exit and access throughout the facility via CCTV and electronic devices.
• Observes inmates and maintains alertness to detect self-destructive or criminal behaviors.
• Allows only authorized entry and exit of secure jail perimeter and areas within the jail facility.
• Documents unusual conditions or events in electronic and written form to be shared with other shifts and facility personnel.
• Executes emergency response and tactic plans for events including hostage, natural disaster, fire, riot, requests for assistance, and power failure.
