Job summary

Central Counties Services seeks a journey-level mental health caseworker for on-site work at Bell County Jail in Belton, TX. You will perform court‑ordered assessments, screen for behavioral health service needs, and review records to guide treatment recommendations.

The role requires collaboration with jail staff, court officials, and community providers, while maintaining strict confidentiality and adhering to policy requirements.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in behavioral sciences, social sciences, humanities, or a related field.
• Meet and maintain the qualifications, training, credentials, and supervision requirements applicable to assigned court-ordered assessments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mental health assessments pursuant to magistrates’ orders, consistent with qualifications and supervision.
• Submit required documentation within court and program deadlines.
• Screen individuals at intake for eligibility for services.
• Review clinical records to inform recommendations for treatment and services.
• Lead psychoeducational and skills groups for individuals housed in the jail’s mental health pod.
• Provide group instruction to individuals found incompetent to stand trial.
• Meet with individuals receiving services to identify psychosocial and economic needs relevant to service recommendations.
