Job summary
Center for Human Development, Inc. is seeking a Jail Diversion Peer Support Specialist who will provide peer support to individuals in local county jail.
The PSS will meet with clients in the community to connect them with services and reduce likelihood of recidivism due to significant mental health symptoms. The PSS will understand and respect each client's point of view, experience and preferences, and work with other CHD staff to maximize client choice, self-determination and decision making
Qualifications
- Must have history of mental health symptoms and therapy to establish stability.
- Must complete 40 hour Peer Delivered Services training and register as a Traditional Health Worker- Family Support Partner within 90 days of hire.
- Possess MHACBO certification or willingness to pursue.
- CADC I or ability to obtain CADC I within two years of employment.
- Must possess a valid Oregon Driver's license and be insurable for client service purposes and travel between offices/trainings.
- Must pass all criminal history check requirements as required by ORS 536-181.537 and related rules.
Responsibilities
- Provide peer support to individuals in local county jail and connect them with community services.
