Job summary
Center for Human Development, Inc. is hiring a Jail Diversion Peer Support Specialist to provide peer support to individuals in local county jail and connect them with services in the community.
The role focuses on reducing recidivism through understanding client perspectives, supporting self-determination, and coordinating with CHD staff for treatment planning. Candidates should have experience with mental health symptoms, complete the required 40-hour training, and pursue
Qualifications
- Must have history of mental health symptoms and have received therapy services to establish stability.
- Must complete 40 hour Peer Delivered Services training and register as a Traditional Health Worker- Family Support Partner within 90 days of hire.
- Possess MHACBO certification or willingness to pursue.
- CADC I or ability to obtain CADC I within two years of employment.
- Must possess a valid Oregon Driver’s license and be insurable for client service purposes, travel between offices, and attend trainings.
- Must pass all criminal history check requirements as required by ORS 536-181.537 and related rules.
