Job summary
CHP Health is seeking a licensed mental health clinician for jail-based competency restoration work at the Monterey County Jail. The role focuses on clinical oversight, direct patient care, and coordination with correctional staff to ensure compliant, quality care for incarcerated individuals found incompetent to stand trial.
The ideal candidate will hold an active CA license (LCSW/LMFT/LPCC/PsyD/PhD) and be willing to work onsite in Monterey, CA.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling or related behavioral health field.
- Active independent clinical licensure in California.
- Experience in multidisciplinary clinical settings.
- Ability to obtain jail clearance.
- Willingness to work in jail settings (not remote).
Responsibilities
- Clinical & operational oversight of JBCT and EASS programs.
- Direct patient care for competency restoration in a jail setting.
- Provide individual and group therapy for competency restoration.
- Coordinate with health and correctional staff on care plans.
- Develop and document treatment plans and progress notes.
