Job summary

Farmer Focus is seeking a Jack Operator for its Liberty facility. The role involves safely moving product with a jack, picking and assembling orders, and supporting shipping operations on the 2nd shift. It requires ability to work in a cold/damp production environment and to pass post-offer drug screening.

Reports to Production Supervisor. This full-time, on-site position offers weekly payroll, benefits, and opportunities for growth within a dynamic poultry operation.

Responsibilities

• Move product in/out of coolers and freezers using a jack.
• Pick customer orders for shipment and transport to the proper area.
• Assemble merchandise for shipment.
• Carry orders to shipping locations using handling equipment.
• Stencil, tag, or mark orders as requested.
• Repack and weigh orders as needed and report variances.
• Perform daily maintenance tasks and assist with projects.
• Repair, install, adjust machinery and routine maintenance.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Role Overview / Purpose and Scope

The Jack Driver is responsible for safely moving product in and out of coolers, freezers, and designated plant areas using an electric or manual jack. This position supports production and shipping operations by accurately picking, transporting, assembling, repacking, weighing, and staging product while maintaining a clean and orderly work area. The role also assists with daily maintenance tasks, special projects, and other duties as assigned to support safe, efficient plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely move product in and out of coolers, freezers, and designated plant areas using an electric or manual jack.
• Efficiently pick customer orders for shipment, ensuring the correct number and type of product is loaded and transported to the appropriate area.
• Assemble various types of merchandise for shipment.
• Carry or transport orders to shipping locations or delivery platforms using material handling equipment.
• Stencil, tag, or mark orders as requested.
• Repack and weigh orders that require additional handling when necessary and report any quality variances.
• Perform daily maintenance tasks and assist with special projects as needed.
• Repair, install, and adjust machinery and equipment, including parts replacement and routine or preventative maintenance, as assigned.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
• Perform other job duties as needed or assigned by the Supervisor.

• Ability to communicate verbally with supervisors and associates.
• Ability and willingness to be trained to safely operate an electric jack.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Willingness to work in a damp, cold, and production-based environment.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodation.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Travel

This position is required to access and work within the poultry production environment. Team members must be able to tolerate varying heat, wet, damp, cold, and chilled conditions within the plant. The role requires constant walking throughout the plant while picking and delivering products, along with bending and standing for extended periods. Team members must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. Hearing and eye protective equipment are required in production areas, and team members must wear hair and beard nets where required.
