Jack In The Box - ASSISTANT RESTAURANT MANAGER

Job Overview

Responsible for managing restaurant operations, either alongside or in the absence of the Restaurant Manager. Uses discretion in daily management decisions, ensuring effective execution of the Service Profit Chain (SPC) and Brand Promise. Main duties include providing excellent internal and external service, and increasing restaurant sales and profits while complying with policies, procedures, and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Internal Service: Recruit, train, develop, and evaluate staff; monitor staffing levels; ensure training systems are followed; foster a friendly, clean, and safe environment; motivate staff; recognize achievements; comply with labor laws.
  2. External Service: Manage daily operations to ensure excellent guest experience; train staff; handle guest concerns professionally; maintain food quality, cleanliness, and safety standards; serve as a role model for guest service.
  3. Profitability: Collaborate with the Restaurant Manager to analyze performance data; develop strategies to increase sales and profits; monitor costs and adhere to budgets.
Skills and Qualities
  • Leadership and integrity; ability to motivate and develop staff; excellent guest focus; strong food safety awareness; adaptability and decision-making skills; organizational and planning abilities; high ethical standards.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's preferred.
  • Experience: At least 1 year as a Shift Leader or Assistant Manager internally; or 3 years as an Assistant Manager externally with P&L responsibility.
  • Skills: Effective communication, math proficiency, analytical skills, computer literacy, valid driver's license, ServSafe certification.
Physical Requirements
  • Stand and walk most of the shift; lift 10-65 lbs; operate equipment and drive as needed.
