Job summary

Apogee seeks an Operational Training Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support mission-critical software modernization for the Air Force NCWC and USSTRATCOM/J56. This on-site role is located at Offutt AFB in Omaha, Nebraska and requires US citizenship with a TS/SCI clearance.

You will develop SMPES-Recap training materials, provide operational training to user organizations, assist in test planning, and contribute to NC2/SMPES-Recap initiatives with DoD partners.

Qualifications

• US citizenship required.
• Clearance TS/SCI required and must be maintainable.
• 12+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ years in DoD.
• On-site Offutt AFB, Nebraska, location is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop SMPES-Recap training materials and courseware for incorporation into SMPES formal training programs.
• Attend meetings with SMPES-Recap developers to provide operational expertise during capability development and post-production phases.
• Provide operational system training to all SMPES-Recap user organizations; include ROC, demonstrations, events, and OT&E.
• Help develop test plans for SMPES-Recap training events; support exercises, Test, and OT&E.
• Provide NC2 operational expertise for SMPES-Recap testing during development.
• Offer SME input for SMPES-Recap training development across mission areas.
• Build and maintain SMPES-Recap messages to support training and test scenarios.
• Apply NC2 directives and policies to SMPES-Recap training and test development.

Overview

Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for an Operational Training Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support mission-critical software modernization, development, and deployment efforts for the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center and US Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM)/J56.

This role involves advancing mission planning and execution capabilities for strategic deterrence through systems engineering, Agile/DevOps practices, and continuous integration/delivery methodologies. Contractors will be engaged in evaluating and enhancing the survivability, interoperability, and reliability of strategic weapon systems while contributing to planning documents, test and evaluation strategies, and rapid technology fielding efforts. This is a unique opportunity to work on mission-critical NC3 software and systems that shape national defense strategies, collaborating with diverse DoD and government partners to drive innovation and operational excellence in support of the strategic enterprise.

This is a full-time position located on-site at Offutt AFB in Omaha, Nebraska.

Responsibilities

• Develops and produces SMPES - Recap training materials and courseware for incorporation into SMPES formal training program(s); includes operational training aids and video-based training.
• Attends meetings with SMPES - Recap developers to provide operational expertise during initial capability development and post-production phases of SMPES - Recap system implementation; includes Discrepancy Reviews (DRs) and regularly scheduled crosstalk meetings.
• Provides operational system training to all SMPES - Recap user organizations; includes operational demonstrations, Recap Orientation Course (ROC), Ad hoc training events, exercises, and OT&E.
• Provides operational expertise during the development of test plans for all SMPES - Recap test and training events; includes exercises, Test, and OT&E.
• Provides NC2 Operational expertise in NPES legacy during the development of SMPES-Recap test and training efforts and development.
• Provides subject matter expertise for SMPES-Recap training development. SME experience desired includes any SMPES-Recap associated mission areas (Personas).
• Builds and maintains SMPES-Recap messages to support training and test scenario development. This includes all messaging types associated with the SMPES-Recap NC2 mission.
• Current experience with all associated NC2 directives and policies to assist in the development of SMPES-Recap training and test development is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum Experience:
• Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
• Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain a TS/SCI level clearance
• Education: Bachelor's Degree
• Years of Experience: 12 or more years of relevant experience, to include 5 years of DoD experience
