Job summary

Apogee Engineering, LLC seeks an Operational Training Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support mission-critical software modernization and deployment efforts for Air Force NC3 systems. You will advance mission planning through systems engineering, Agile/DevOps practices, and CI/CD methodologies in collaboration with DoD partners at Offutt AFB in Omaha, Nebraska.

The role requires 12+ years of relevant experience, 5+ years with DoD programs, US citizenship, and the ability to maintain a TS/SCI

Qualifications

  • Citizenship: Must be a US citizen.
  • Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree.
  • Years of Experience: 12+ years, incl 5 years of DoD experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and produces SMPES - Recap training materials and courseware for SMPES training programs.
  • Attends meetings with SMPES – Recap developers to provide operational expertise in development and post-production phases.
  • Provides operational system training to SMPES – Recap user organizations, including ROC, exercises, and OT&E.
  • Contributes to test plan development for SMPES-Recap training and test events; supports OT&E.
  • Provides NC2 Operational expertise in NPES legacy during SMPES-Recap test and training efforts.
  • Offers SME input for SMPES-Recap training development across mission areas (Personas).
  • Builds and maintains SMPES-Recap messages to support training and test Scenarios.

Overview

Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for an Operational Training Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support mission-critical software modernization, development, and deployment efforts for the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center and US Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM)/J56.

This role involves advancing mission planning and execution capabilities for strategic deterrence through systems engineering, Agile/DevOps practices, and continuous integration/delivery methodologies. Contractors will be engaged in evaluating and enhancing the survivability, interoperability, and reliability of strategic weapon systems while contributing to planning documents, test and evaluation strategies, and rapid technology fielding efforts. This is a unique opportunity to work on mission-critical NC3 software and systems that shape national defense strategies, collaborating with diverse DoD and government partners to drive innovation and operational excellence in support of the strategic enterprise.

This is a full-time position located on-site at Offutt AFB in Omaha, Nebraska.

Responsibilities
  • Develops and produces SMPES - Recap training materials and courseware for incorporation into SMPES formal training program(s); includes operational training aids and video-based training.
  • Attends meetings with SMPES – Recap developers to provide operational expertise during initial capability development and post-production phases of SMPES - Recap system implementation; includes Discrepancy Reviews (DRs) and regularly scheduled crosstalk meetings
  • Provides operational system training to all SMPES – Recap user organizations; includes operational demonstrations, Recap Orientation Course (ROC), Ad hoc training events, exercises, and OT&E
  • Provides operational expertise during the development of test plans for all SMPES – Recap test and training events; includes exercises, Test, and OT&E
  • Provides NC2 Operational expertise in NPES legacy during the development of SMPES-Recap test and training efforts and development
  • Provides subject matter expertise for SMPES-Recap training development. SME experience desired includes any SMPES-Recap associated mission areas (Personas).
  • Builds and maintains SMPES-Recap messages to support training and test scenario development. This includes all messaging types associated with the SMPES-Recap NC2 mission.
  • Current experience with all associated NC2 directives and policies to assist in the development of SMPES-Recap training and test development is a plus
