Overview

Omni Oklahoma City Hotel is a 605-room convention center hotel in downtown Oklahoma City, with Mokara Spa, six food & beverage outlets, 76,000 square feet of meeting and event space, a retail outlet, fitness center, and rooftop pool. The property is located next to the Paycom Center, the Oklahoma Convention Center, and Scissortail Park.

J1 Food & Beverage Internship

Overview: The training phases demonstrate a balance between learning opportunities and contributions to Omni restaurant operations. The participant is introduced to Omni restaurant outlets operations and services to gain knowledge of Omni's service standards and how operational roles interrelate to create a successful restaurant operation and to provide exemplary guest service experience.

Responsibilities

The participant will master the following responsibilities during the program:

  1. Phase 1: Restaurant Introduction — Introduce the participant to Omni restaurant outlet operations and services to gain knowledge of Omni's service standards and how operational roles interrelate to provide exemplary guest service.

  2. Phase 2: Volume Restaurant Demands — Become familiar with advanced Food and Beverage service standards and gain exposure to demands during high-volume periods, improving confidence, techniques, organizational skills, and knowledge.

  3. Phase 3: Food & Beverage Leadership and Business Activities — Wrap up training with increased feedback and training, and build leadership skills. Objectives include:

    • Experience more feedback from customer service skills and problem solving.

    • Learn to handle customer comments, complaints, or concerns.

    • Attend weekly trainings during June–August focusing on managing training materials.

  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Must be able to multi-task

  • Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period of time or for an entire shift

  • Must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 10 lbs without assistance

  • Must be able to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Must have alcohol training certification (ABLE)

  • Must have Food Handler permit
