Job summary

Jacobs Entertainment, Inc. (JEI) is seeking a Security Officer I for all shifts at The J Resort in Reno, NV. This full-time, hourly position focuses on safety, guest protection, and property security within a premier resort environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, ability to obtain CPR/First Aid/AED, and Nevada Gaming registration. Training, benefits, and advancement opportunities are provided by JEI.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Work Experience.
• Ability to obtain CPR, First Aid and AED certifications
• Ability to obtain Nevada Gaming registration card
• Obtain Alcohol Awareness card
• Identification that establishes identity
• Identification that establishes the right to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned area to ensure safety of guests, employees, and property
• Assist guests and employees as needed
• Check doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are secure
• Enforce company policies on premises
• Document infractions and advise management
• Monitor for hazards and report irregularities
• Respond to emergencies and assist in evacuation if required
• Transport chips, currency and tokens as needed
• Handle lost and found items

Essential Job Responsibilities and Duties:

• Responsible for patrolling assigned area to ensure safety and protection of guests, employees, and company property
• Patrols assigned area and assists guests and employees as needed
• Examines doors, windows, gates, etc. to ensure that they are secure
• Enforces company policies as they pertain to guest and employee conduct on premises
• Documents infractions and advises management where appropriate
• Watches for and reports irregularities such as fire hazards, unlocked security doors, etc.
• Responds to all emergencies such as fire, injuries, property damage, etc.
• Investigates and completes reports concerning the same
• During serious emergencies, may be assigned to assist in the evacuation of company property
• Transport chips, currency/coin and tokens to the different requesting tables/booths
• Accepts logs and stores all lost and found articles
• Enforces state gaming laws and regulations including (but not necessarily limited to) the identification and removal of underage persons from the casino floor
• Responds to requests for medical assistance when required and renders first responder type first aid consistent with company policy and the individual officer’s skill level and medical certification

Skills, Education and Other Requirements:
