Basic Home Infusion (BHI) seeks a Specialty Pharmacy Technician to support patients receiving IVIG and SCIG therapies, coordinating onboarding, benefits investigation, prior authorizations, and medication fulfillment to ensure timely therapy access.

The role requires knowledge of specialty pharmacy operations, payer requirements, and patient support services while maintaining compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Active Pharmacy Technician registration/certification as required by state regulations
• National certification (PTCB)
• Knowledge of insurance verification, prior authorizations, and specialty medication workflows
• Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary contact for patients receiving IVIG and SCIG therapies and coordinate onboarding activities for new referrals
• Process prescriptions and refill requests in accordance with state and federal regulations; assist pharmacists with dispensing activities
• Coordinate renewals, updated prescriptions, and clinical assessments; document interactions in pharmacy systems
• Communicate with physicians, nurses, case managers, and manufacturer support programs; obtain documentation for authorization and reimbursement
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with HIPAA, accreditation standards, and company policies
