Job summary

CCRM Fertility is seeking a Surgery Center Staff Nurse to provide individualized nursing care for surgery patients and embryo transfer patients. The role requires independent function with guidance from physicians, manager, and team members.

The position involves completing assessments, preparing supplies, maintaining sterile technique, and communicating with doctors. A strong emphasis on documentation, patient education, and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required.
• 3+ years nursing experience in other RN roles.
• 1+ year experience related to operating room, PACU, or critical care.

Responsibilities

• Complete patient assessment, collection, and interpretation of pertinent data.
• Documentation of all assessments, interventions, and patient’s response.
• Prepare supplies/equipment for the surgical patient and sterilize instruments.
• Demonstrate knowledge of sterile technique and use of equipment in the OR and PACU.
• Provide teaching and answer patient questions using resources needed and available.
• Communicate patient’s condition to MDs and other providers as needed/appropriate.
• Discharge patients to home/temporary housing as condition dictates and arrange transfers when needed.
• Promote a positive work environment and participate in staff meetings and unit problem solving.
• Detail-oriented paperwork ensuring forms are signed, accurate and complete.
• Coordinate chart review to ensure consent forms are complete and signed.
• Inquire about advance directives and input forms into EMR if completed.
• Oversee emergent situations calmly and efficiently, with knowledge of emergency procedures.
• Post op call and document in EMR.
• Assist with quality improvement and research as appropriate.
• Other duties as assigned.
