Job summary

The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is seeking an Embryologist to perform ART laboratory techniques and independently lead key projects within the IVF lab. You will conduct oocyte retrieval, insemination, embryo culture, and related assessments in accordance with SOPs and quality controls.

You will evaluate clinical specimens, prepare samples, and support research initiatives while maintaining precise documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in life science and 5-8 years of reproductive lab experience.
• Proficiency of lab skills and policies specific to IVF procedures.
• Thorough knowledge of data management and documentation methods used in Embryology.
• Advanced knowledge of quality assurance, quality control and process improvements.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff and explain complex concepts clearly.
• Superior eye-hand coordination and meticulous attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform key ART laboratory procedures such as oocyte retrieval, insemination, embryo culture and semen analysis as per SOPs.
• Evaluate clinical specimens, prepare samples, and select specimens for transfer while monitoring growth and quality.
• Support and participate in faculty-led research projects within the division.
• Maintain compliance with quality control processes and documentation standards.
• Demonstrate flexibility in schedule as required by the nature of work.
