Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System in Omaha is seeking an IV Team Registered Nurse to deliver specialized vascular access services across the hospital, focusing on patient safety and evidence-based practice.

The role includes insertion and management of PIVs, midlines, PICCs and ports, with ultrasound-guided insertions if skilled, plus comprehensive patient education and precise documentation in the EMR.

Qualifications

• RN licensed in Nebraska or compact multistate license
• BSN from an accredited school; RN license required
• BLS certification preferred or obtained within 3 months; CRNI/ NCC certifications preferred

Responsibilities

• Respond to vascular access requests across hospital units.
• Insert and maintain peripheral IVs, midlines, PICCs as skilled.
• Access and de-access implanted ports according to policy.
• Perform and monitor dressing changes for midlines, PICCs, ports and other devices.
• Provide education to patients, families and staff on vascular access care.
• Document procedures and outcomes in the electronic medical record.
