Job summary

UF Health in Gainesville, FL is seeking an IV Pharmacy Technician to support sterile compounding and distribution within the inpatient setting. You will prepare CSPs using laminar airflow workbenches or BSCs and help manage medications and supplies for patient care units.

The role requires completion of relevant competencies within six months of start and ongoing evaluation. Prior aseptic technique experience is preferred, with emphasis on accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Preference for hospital or community pharmacy experience or related training.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique and sterile compounding is preferred.
• Ability to perform basic dosages and calculations accurately.
• Familiarity with state/federal pharmacy laws is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical and clerical duties within inpatient pharmacy distribution.
• Prepare sterile products using aseptic technique per USP 797.
• Distribute medications to patient care units and automate dispensing cabinets.
• Manage medication and supply inventory and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Demonstrate safety, accuracy, and timeliness in completing tasks.
