Job summary

PharMerica in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a full-time Pharmacy IV Technician to join a non-retail, closed-door team serving long-term care and senior living clients.

You will maintain sterile compounding areas, prepare and fill prescriptions, support QA, and assist pharmacists with data entry, refill coordination, and communication with facilities. Competitive benefits and scheduled hours are offered.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Pharmacy Technician license as required by state.
• 6 months – 1 year of IV Pharmacy Technician experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to operate a computer; recognize and identify medications.
• Detail oriented; goal oriented, team player, and effective oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Clean, maintain, and monitor sterile compounding areas in a Class 100 cleanroom.
• Prepare and fill prescriptions for long-term care residents and high-risk patients.
• Support QA processes and ensure compliance with documentation requirements.
• Assist pharmacists with data entry, refill coordination, and communication with facilities.
• Stage, prepare, and fill medication orders accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain and clean infusion pumps and other sterile equipment.
• Replenish and maintain Emergency Drug Kits for long-term care facilities.
• Handle shipping and tracking of packages via overnight providers.
• Support inventory management, filing, and stocking in the IV department.
• Collaborate with leadership to maintain a safe, compliant work environment.
• Promptly report operational or compliance concerns related to USP 797 standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Pharmacist, IV Supervisor, or Director of Pharmacy.
