Responsibilities

• Enter intravenous orders into the pharmacy system per physician orders.
• Maintain adequate inventory of medications and supplies.
• Maintain IV pumps according to policy.
• Adhere to aseptic technique and IV room training.
• Compound large-volume IV medications.
• Prepare small-volume admixtures for intermittent use.
• Compound chemotherapy and TPN solutions.
• Prepare IV medications for delivery in proper packaging.
• Maintain compounding logs and patient information sheets.
• Document monthly medication storage inspections; replace outdated drugs.
