Job summary

UniversaCare is seeking a PRN Home Infusion Registered Nurse to hire for per-diem shift slots with flexible evenings and weekends in the New York area. Start date is immediate, delivering infusion therapies at patients\' homes.

You will provide broad infusion services, educate patients, and monitor therapy progress while maintaining high-quality care outside hospital settings. Strong NY RN license and infusion experience required.

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted RN license in NY.
• 2+ years of CC/infusion-related experience.
• Experience with IV infusions, labs, and med reconstitution.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
• CPR/BLS certification and HIPAA knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one home infusion nursing visits per physician plan.
• Educate patients and families; monitor responses to therapy.
• Assess patient condition and adjust care to meet treatment goals.
• Document care activity and build trust with clients and families.

As aHome Care PRN Infusion Registered Nurse (RN), you will experience a special energy and excitement from your work as you join a team of individuals who are committed to improving the lives of others. You will work in a growing, specialized area of the nursing field outside the walls of a hospital setting

As aHome Infusion Registered Nurseyou will provide a broad range of infusion therapies in out patients’ homes while:

• Compassionately taking care of patients in order to allow them to recover in the comfort of their own home by using your clinical IV capabilities and personal touch.
• Skillfully providing one-on-one home infusion nursing care visits and patient education in accordance with the physician’s plan of treatment.
• Assessing the patient’s condition and response to therapy, taking action as needed to facilitate achievement of treatment goals.
• Establishing trust and building therapeutically effective relationships with our clients and their families.

Required Qualifications:

• Active and unrestricted registered nurse with current license in state of NY
• Two (2)+ years of experience working as an RN in a Critical Care setting that contributes to proficiency in infusion therapy (such as medical surgical unit, ED, ICU, post-anesthesia care, or similar setting)
• Experience with lab draws, IV infusions, and reconstitution of medications
• Strong experience with working with a variety of pumps (CAAD, curling, etc) & troubleshooting issues that may arise
• Possess a valid and current driver’s license and auto insurance/registration
• Ability to handle specialty cases like IGG, IVIG, Solumedrol, etc.
• Have and maintain current CPR / BLS certification
• Knowledge of HIPAA patient privacy and data security requirements; OSHA employee protection regulations
• Hold current Malpractice Insurance
• Have experience with Microsoft Office to document and track patient care activity
