UniversaCare seeks a PRN Home Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver in-home infusion therapies. This per-diem role offers flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, with immediate start availability.

You will work outside the hospital setting, providing high-quality infusion care to patients in their homes and ensuring comfort and safety. The RN will educate patients on treatments, monitor responses, and coordinate with physicians to achieve treatment goals.

Qualifications

• Active NY RN license with no restrictions.
• 2+ years in critical care or infusion-related settings.
• Experience with IV therapies, lab draws, and medication reconstitution.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide home infusion nursing care visits in patients’ homes.
• Educate patients and families on treatments and device use.
• Assess patient response and adjust care per physician plan.
• Document care activities with standard office software and maintain HIPAA compliance.

As aHome Care PRN Infusion Registered Nurse (RN), you will experience a special energy and excitement from your work as you join a team of individuals who are committed to improving the lives of others. You will work in a growing, specialized area of the nursing field outside the walls of a hospital setting

As aHome Infusion Registered Nurseyou will provide a broad range of infusion therapies in out patients’ homes while:

• Compassionately taking care of patients in order to allow them to recover in the comfort of their own home by using your clinical IV capabilities and personal touch.
• Skillfully providing one-on-one home infusion nursing care visits and patient education in accordance with the physician’s plan of treatment.
• Assessing the patient’s condition and response to therapy, taking action as needed to facilitate achievement of treatment goals.
• Establishing trust and building therapeutically effective relationships with our clients and their families.

Required Qualifications:

• Active and unrestricted registered nurse with current license in state of NY
• Two (2)+ years of experience working as an RN in a Critical Care setting that contributes to proficiency in infusion therapy (such as medical surgical unit, ED, ICU, post-anesthesia care, or similar setting)
• Experience with lab draws, IV infusions, and reconstitution of medications
• Strong experience with working with a variety of pumps (CAAD, curling, etc) & troubleshooting issues that may arise
• Possess a valid and current driver’s license and auto insurance/registration
• Ability to handle specialty cases like IGG, IVIG, Solumedrol, etc.
• Have and maintain current CPR / BLS certification
• Knowledge of HIPAA patient privacy and data security requirements; OSHA employee protection regulations
• Hold current Malpractice Insurance
• Have experience with Microsoft Office to document and track patient care activity
