Job summary

UniversaCare is seeking a PRN Home Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver in-home infusion therapy across the NY metropolitan area. The role is per-diem with flexible hours including evenings and weekends, starting immediately at a $55/hour starting rate.

You will work with a team focused on compassionate, patient-centered care outside the hospital, providing education, assessing responses to therapy, and coordinating with physicians.

Qualifications

• Active NY RN license required.
• Two+ years in critical care with infusion experience.
• Experience with IV infusions, labs, and med reconstitution.
• Familiarity with infusion pumps and troubleshooting.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
• CPR/BLS certification required.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide home infusion nursing care in patients' homes.
• Perform IV infusions and patient education per physician plan.
• Assess patient condition and respond to therapy to meet goals.
• Establish trust with patients and families and document care.

As aHome Care PRN Infusion Registered Nurse (RN), you will experience a special energy and excitement from your work as you join a team of individuals who are committed to improving the lives of others. You will work in a growing, specialized area of the nursing field outside the walls of a hospital setting

As aHome Infusion Registered Nurseyou will provide a broad range of infusion therapies in out patients’ homes while:

• Compassionately taking care of patients in order to allow them to recover in the comfort of their own home by using your clinical IV capabilities and personal touch.
• Skillfully providing one‑on‑one home infusion nursing care visits and patient education in accordance with the physician’s plan of treatment.
• Assessing the patient’s condition and response to therapy, taking action as needed to facilitate achievement of treatment goals.
• Establishing trust and building therapeutically effective relationships with our clients and their families.

Required Qualifications:

• Active and unrestricted registered nurse with current license in state of NY
• Two (2)+ years of experience working as an RN in a Critical Care setting that contributes to proficiency in infusion therapy (such as medical surgical unit, ED, ICU, post‑anesthesia care, or similar setting)
• Experience with lab draws, IV infusions, and reconstitution of medications
• Strong experience with working with a variety of pumps (CAAD, curling, etc) & troubleshooting issues that may arise
• Possess a valid and current driver’s license and auto insurance/registration
• Ability to handle specialty cases like IGG, IVIG, Solumedrol, etc.
• Have and maintain current CPR / BLS certification
• Knowledge of HIPAA patient privacy and data security requirements; OSHA employee protection regulations
• Hold current Malpractice Insurance
• Have experience with Microsoft Office to document and track patient care activity
