Job description

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a ITSPEC (CUSTSPT) - TITLE 32, Position Description Number PDD2182P01 and is part of the KY 123 AW, National Guard.

Key Responsibilities

As a ITSPEC (CUSTSPT) - TITLE 32, GS-2210-11, you will perform a variety of network device configuration and connectivity tasks. Execute procedures and coordinate corrective action to optimize network performance. Install, configure and monitor software packages that provide performance measurements of the WAN/LAN. Implement standard configuration software loads for network devices. Work with technical support personnel in resolving critical problems.

Use remote management software tools to maintain and update configuration, protocol and files. Ensure backup processes are completed. Evaluate performance of network devices. Coordinate development and implementation of configuration management plans for complex LANs and WANs with supported elements. Implement plans and procedure for installation of applications and upgrades.

Monitor distribution of applications and upgrades ensuring compliance with regulations and copyright laws. Implement procedures to ensure accurate records of authorized users of distributed software are maintained. Implement standard operating procedures for devices on the network. Review and evaluate proposed software. Provide input to briefings and presentations on the complexities of the installation networks.

Analyze equipment and software reliability and utilization reports to identify and define problem areas and to establish end-to-end systems performance levels. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements & Education

Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience: To qualify for GS-2210 Title 32 Excepted Service positions, on the basis of completed graduate education listed below. FOR THE GS-11: Ph.D.

or equivalent -OR- 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree All undergraduate or graduate education must be in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

To receive credit for education, you must provide OFFICIAL transcripts.
