Full‑time, Excepted Permanent, dual status position requiring Georgia Air National Guard membership.
Salary: $74,678 – $97,087 per year (GS 11). Promotion potential: None.

Responsibilities
- Perform cyberspace operations that protect and defend (or assess the capability to protect and defend) information and information systems by ensuring their availability, integrity, authentication, confidentiality, and non‑repudiation.
- Conduct risk and vulnerability assessments of DoD information systems and configuration management to identify associated vulnerabilities, risks and protection needs.
- Evaluate and assess vulnerabilities of customer network and application server hardware, operating systems, routers, switches, and other peripheral network equipment; ensure compliance with applicable standards and maintain system backups.
- Hunt for and illuminate advanced persistent threats in DoD systems; detect, discover and characterize advanced adversary tradecraft, and remove adversary activity that evades routine security measures.
- Perform analysis and design of automated and manual network systems; provide intrusion detection analysis and recommend countermeasures.
- Replicate tactics, techniques and procedures of specific cyber threats to evaluate defenses and prepare defensive cyber operations.
- Conduct cyber key terrain analysis and mission‑oriented mapping; develop courses of action for risk mitigation and mission defense.
- Assess and evaluate vulnerabilities in industrial control system (ICS) enclaves, review network traffic and configurations, and provide recommendations to improve security posture.
- Prepare Unit Training Assembly, annual training and currency training events for Mission‑Ready Cyberspace Operators; coordinate scheduling, equipment readiness and training range devices.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- National Guard membership required; must be a member of a compatible military assignment in the employing state’s National Guard.
- Selectee must wear the military uniform.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation; may be required to complete a probationary period.
- Mandatory participation in direct deposit.
- Must obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Special Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) eligible security clearance.
- Must be certified in accordance with DOD 8570.01‑M and applicable federal directives.

Qualifications
- Military Grades: E5 – E7.
- Compatible Military Assignments: 1N471A and 1N472.
- General Experience: Basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles sufficient to understand automation stages.
- Specialized Experience: At least 36 months of experience, education or training in an appropriate computer applications or specialty area; experience in planning and coordinating tasks with external parties, developing project controls, and preparing cost/benefit documentation.
- Education: At the GS‑11 level, a Ph.D. or equivalent, or three years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.
