Job Description: Job Title: Delivery Manager-IT Shift Timings: Should be available till 10-10:30 PM IST Location: PAN India Remote, Work from Home Experience required: 10 to 18 years A Delivery Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of multiple client projects, ensuring they meet deadlines and overall expectations. Ensure that software projects are delivered with high quality, technical excellence, and business alignment while managing teams, stakeholders, and project risks effectively.Project & Delivery Management

  • Define the delivery roadmap, outlining phases, deliverables, and milestones for each project.
  • Manage Agile/Scrum teams, ensuring adherence to daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives while keeping discussions relevant and efficient.
  • Ensure teams meet deadlines while maintaining expected quality standards.
  • Proactively follow up on delays (e.g., missing client feedback, technical challenges) and adjust timelines as needed.
  • Ensure the project is aligned with the desired goals/outcomes of the project.
  • Ensure proper documentation as needed in the project and as expected/requested by the client.

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Ensure requirements are well-defined, expectations are met, and any concerns are addressed.
  • Conducting regular meetings with clients to update them on project progress and address feedback
  • Addressing client feedback and incorporating changes without disrupting project timelines.
  • Managing multiple stakeholders, including senior management, vendors, and contractors (if included in the project)
  • Gathers team feedback periodically through the proper channel. In some of the cases, the feedback can be taken directly from the client in the scheduled calls when the team leaves. Another way is to check client partners for teams feedback periodically or when needed on demand.

Technical Leadership & Solution DesignEnsure the technical team is selecting the right architecture and ensuring best practices are followed.

  • Providing technical direction to development teams.

Ensure accurate effort estimations for project planning.

  • Conducting code reviews and enforcing best coding practices.
  • Support the creation of project proposals, ensuring technically feasible solutions with well-defined effort and timeline expectations.
  • Work closely with architects, engineers, and developers to ensure technical feasibility and sound design.
  • Ensure adherence to security, scalability, and performance standards.

Resource & Team Management

  • Managing development teams and ensuring efficient resource allocation is crucial for project success.
  • Assigning the right developers, testers, and DevOps engineers to projects based on skills and availability.
  • Ensure proper subject matter experts are requested to help the team when required and where the team lacks skills.
  • Balance workloads to prevent burnout.
  • Conducting team evaluations and arranging upskilling programs.
  • Lead and mentor software development teams, fostering collaboration and productivity.
  • Ensure appropriate resource allocation and skill utilization within the team.
  • Facilitate communication between technical teams, business stakeholders, and clients.
  • Ensures that the team fills the timesheet on time and that it is reviewed and approved by the team leads weekly
  • Ensure the timesheets are ready on month-end and shared with the clients on time.
  • Review the timesheet sent to the client, and ensure that it is in proper format. Also, ensure the work done by the team and mentioned on the timesheet are appropriate and justifies value to the client.
  • Evaluate teams performance and take corrective actions
  • Help in hiring process and make sure relevant candidates are selected
  • Monitor and track the progress of the new hires and existing resources and create improvement plan.

Risk & Issue Management

  • Identify risks related to delays, scope changes, and resource shortages. Example: A team is building an AI-powered application. The DM identifies risks such as Third-party tool changes affecting application functionality.
  • Identify potential risks in technical execution and mitigate them proactively.
  • Managing unexpected challenges such as team attrition, estimate overruns, or client conflicts.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical challenges and drive issue resolution.
  • Implement contingency plans for project risks and failures.

Quality Assurance & Process Optimization

  • Conducting peer code reviews to ensure clean, efficient, and bug-free code.
  • Ensure unit, integration, and performance testing is performed to catch bugs early.
  • Ensure software development follows coding standards, best practices, and QA processes.
  • Conduct security audits and performance assessments.

Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Collaborate with other departments and work with people who are experts in their fields. For example, a team could efficiently develop some screens with the help of an experienced designer and write efficient queries with the help of experienced SQL experts.
  • Work with designers, engineers, QA teams, and business analysts to improve efficiency. Facilitate communication between technical teams and business stakeholders.

Budget & Cost Management

  • Estimating software components cost and tracking expenses. Example: use of cloud hosting and computing, etc.
  • Determine if licensed software components are required and seek client approvals.
  • Manage project budgets, resource allocation, and cost optimization.
  • Identify ways to reduce technical debt without compromising quality.
  • Ensuring software products are both delivered on time and within budget, communicate with stakeholders through sharing reports periodically (probably weekly, at the end of each sprint or as defined and needed) so they can examine how things are going and provide feedback and make changes as necessary.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Research and adopt new technologies (e.g., AI, DevOps, automation). Encourage teams to implement best practices in software development.
  • Drive initiatives for process improvements and performance optimizations.

Deployment & Post-Delivery Support

  • Oversee deployment strategies, ensuring seamless UAT and production rollouts.
  • Ensure post-deployment support, maintenance, and monitoring strategies are in place.
  • Oversee post-deployment monitoring and provide real-time support to address any issues immediately after the product goes live.
  • Define and document post-delivery support processes to ensure consistent maintenance and issue resolution.
  • Ensure that knowledge transfer sessions are held with the support team to ensure long-term success after the delivery.
  • Gather post-launch feedback from clients and end-users to ensure continued improvement of the product.
  • Manage and monitor the performance of the product post-deployment, ensuring high availability and responsiveness.
