Job summary

Anova Education in Texas is looking for a Special Education Teacher- Itinerant Support to deliver high-quality instruction and modify curricula to match student abilities. The role involves developing or adjusting lesson plans, collaborating with ARD/IEP teams, and supporting students in various instructional settings.

You will implement learning programs, assess student needs, and work with staff and families to ensure appropriate education plans are followed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsements for assignment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with students, parents, and staff to develop IEP through ARD for each student.
• Implement instructional or therapeutic programs and show written evidence of preparation.
• Assess student learning styles and plan instruction accordingly.
• Present material using varied techniques and technology to meet needs.
• Modify regular curricula and assist in regular classes.
• Participate in ARD Committee meetings regularly.
• Participate in selection of books and instructional media.
• Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement.
• Provide or supervise personal/medical care as stated in IEP.
• Sponsor extracurricular activities as assigned.
• Consult district and outside resources regarding student needs.
• Create conducive classroom environments and manage behavior per IEP.
• Take precautions to protect students and property.
• Plan and supervise work of aides and volunteers.
• Maintain communication with parents and staff through conferences.
• Keep compliant with regulations and compile required reports.
• Attend faculty meetings and participate in staff committees.
• Follow safety protocols and participate in threat assessment if needed.
