Job summary

Anova Education seeks a dedicated Special Education teacher to deliver learning activities for students with special needs in Texas. The teacher will develop individual IEPs with ARD involvement, adapt curricula, and coordinate with families and staff to support growth across intellectual, emotional, and social domains.

The role involves collaboration with classroom teachers, administering assessments, and ensuring compliance with SPED guidelines and district policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsements.
• Knowledge of ARD Committee process and IEP goal setting and implementation.
• Knowledge of how to adapt curriculum and instruction for special needs.
• Effective communication skills.
• Experience: student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with students, parents, and staff to develop IEP through ARD for each student.
• Implement instructional, therapeutic, or skill development programs with written prep evidence.
• Assess student learning styles and plan appropriate strategies and materials.
• Present subject matter per IEP guidelines using varied instructional techniques and media.
• Assist regular classes with adaptation of curricula for special education students.
• Participate in ARD Committee meetings regularly.
• Contribute to selection of books, equipment, and instructional media.
• Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
• Provide or supervise personal and medical care as stated in IEP.
• Sponsor extracurricular activities as assigned and approved.
• Interact with district and outside resources regarding student needs.
• Create a conducive classroom environment and manage student behavior per IEP.
• Plan and supervise teacher aides and volunteers.
• Maintain communications with parents, students, principals, and teachers.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and maintain required reports.
