Job summary

The Chester County Intermediate Unit seeks an Itinerant Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing to support children from birth to age 21 in birth-to-three, preschool, and school-age programs.

Responsibilities include assessing and teaching deaf/hearing-impaired students, developing IEPs, and assisting educators with accommodations and technology. A PA teaching certification is required, with a master's degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid PA Certification as Teacher of Deaf/Hearing Impaired required.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Dual certification - Deaf & Hard of Hearing and Special Education preferred.
• PA Criminal History clearance, Child Abuse clearance and FBI Fingerprint clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Provide hearing support to deaf/hearing impaired students referred by districts and birth to three programs.
• Plan and/or adopt educational programs to benefit deaf and hearing impaired students.
• Assess and teach deaf/hearing impaired students; develop IEPs; support technology and accommodations; consult with teachers to implement strategies.
