Job summary

Florida Power & Light Company is seeking a field-maintenance technician to support the West County Plant in Loxahatchee, FL, with statewide travel for outages. The role includes preventive maintenance, testing, overhaul, and installation of electrical equipment, mainly circuit breakers and batteries.

Candidates must pass MASS tests and a pre-placement evaluation, with a day shift and potential overtime. Local candidates are preferred; relocation and testing assistance are not provided.

Qualifications

Pwr Plant maintenance position selection system test passed.
Valid driver’s license (non-CDL) required.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance on plant equipment to ensure proper operation.
Conduct testing, overhauls, repair/replacement and installation of electrical plant equipment focusing on circuit breakers and batteries.
Use a variety of test instruments and hand/power tools to maintain a safe, productive work environment.
Complete MASS testing and hands-on assessments to verify craft skills.
Complete a pre-placement functional evaluation prior to start.
Work day shift with travel within Florida; overtime can be 400–800 hours yearly.
