Job summary

Florida Power & Light Company is a major utility with a Port Everglades Plant in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This role requires traveling the state to support fleet outages; tools are provided by the company. Shifts vary by outage needs, with a typical day shift when not in outage and overtime averaging 400–800 hours yearly.

Per diem is provided for travel outside the region. The position performs maintenance on plant instrument and control equipment, and may travel to other work locations as workload

Qualifications

• Experience as Instrument and Control Specialist or apprentice program completion.
• Experience at industrial facilities as I&C technician or equivalent training.
• 2 years in maintenance/troubleshooting instrumentation & control devices with related college coursework.

Responsibilities

• Operate power and hand tools to maintain a safe, productive workplace.
• Read and interpret electrical and mechanical diagrams and blueprints.
• Perform preventive maintenance on instrument and control equipment.
• Install and maintain instrumentation and wiring from sensors to control elements.
• Prepare calibration and maintenance records for instruments and devices.
