Job summary

Grundy County Special Education Co-Op seeks an Itinerant Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to provide direct and consultative services to students in the least restrictive environment as required by the IEP.

The role involves collaborating with educators, parents, and specialists to plan appropriate educational programs, determine student needs with the educational audiologist, and support the development of self-advocacy skills in students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Qualifications

• PEL license with endorsement for Teacher of Students Who Are Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
• Ability to differentiate instruction for deaf and hard-of-hearing students across settings.
• Strong collaboration with families, teachers, and specialists.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction to deaf and hard of hearing students aligned with IEP goals.
• Collaborate with IEP teams to develop goals and support services.
• Coordinate with parents, teachers, and audiologists to plan appropriate programming.
• Support access to core curriculum through differentiated instruction and classroom accommodations.
