Job summary

Montgomery Public Schools in Birmingham, AL seeks an Early Childhood Itinerant Special Education Teacher to support students with disabilities across multiple sites. You will collaborate with teachers, families, and specialists to implement IEPs and transition plans, aligning instruction with state standards and district policies.

The role requires a valid Alabama professional certificate in Early Childhood Special Education and the ability to travel between locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Alabama Professional Certificate with certification in Early Childhood Special Education or Collaborative Special Education P-3 or P-12.
• ESSA requirements or willingness to meet them.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, school and agency counselors and related service providers to support students who require special education services.
• Develop and implement individualized education service and transition plans for IDEA-identified students.
• Guide students through a program of study aligned to grade-level standards.
• Instruct students in citizenship and state-mpecified subject matter.
• Develop lesson plans with teacher of record; provide individualized and small group instruction.
