Job summary

A progressive school district in Tulsa is seeking an Itinerant Hearing-Impaired Teacher to work with students who are deaf and hard of hearing. This role involves collaboration with families and educators to ensure necessary services are provided. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in education, relevant experience, and the ability to secure Oklahoma certification for Special Education. Knowledge of IEP processes and proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.
• Possess or ability to obtain Oklahoma certification in Special Education and hearing-impaired.
• Possess or ability to obtain an Oklahoma certification in Special Education and hearing-impaired.
• Understanding of the legal requirements of an IEP and the MEEGS process as outlined in Oklahoma.
• Working knowledge of IDEA 2004.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Office Suite.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

Job description

Position Summary

The Itinerant Hearing‑Impaired Teacher will work with students who are deaf and/or hard of hearing, their teachers and families to ensure that required and related services are provided in their home school.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in education or related field
• Experience: Previous experience working with individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc.:
  • Possess or ability to obtain an Oklahoma certification in Special Education and hearing‑impaired
  • Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of the legal requirements of an IEP and the MEEGS process as outlined in Oklahoma
  • Must have a working knowledge of IDEA 2004
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Office Suite
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
