Job summary

Cary Medical Center is seeking an IT Specialist to provide technical support, install and maintain PC hardware and software, and troubleshoot network equipment. The role requires hands-on problem solving and strong interpersonal skills to interact with staff across departments.

The position is full-time, days schedule, on-site only, Non-Exempt, with a pay range of $25.00–$37.75 per hour. Starting pay depends on experience and market conditions.

Qualifications

• Minimum Associate in Science in Information Systems; bachelor’s in Information Systems preferred.
• Industry Certifications related to the position preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure hardware and software components to ensure usability.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues on-site or remotely.
• Walk end-users through problem-solving processes.
• Repair or replace damaged hardware.
• Assist in installation of network infrastructure equipment including cabling and backbone equipment.
• Perform tests and evaluations on new software and hardware.
• Provide user support and be the first point of contact for error reporting.
• Maintain positive relationships with departments and colleagues.
• Manage technical documentation.
• Identify and suggest improvements to procedures.
• Evaluate and resolve computer, system, and user problems; maintain hardware, software, and peripherals.
• Implement backup and recovery procedures.
• Support monitoring and troubleshooting of LAN/WAN performance and networking issues.
• Comply with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Pay Range

The compensation range listed above represents the good-faith range Cary Medical Center anticipates relying upon when making an offer for this position. Starting pay is determined based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, education, certifications, internal equity, and market conditions.

Job Summary:

Position will provide technical support and assistance to resolve problems with the organizations computer networks and systems to include installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting standard PC and Network hardware and software. Position will work to resolve the majority of end-user and system issues relating to hardware and network equipment. Success applicants must have an in-depth understanding of PC hardware, peripherals, devices, and software applications and be able to independently install, maintain, and trouble- shoot PC's. Success applicants may perform network infrastructure and maintenance tasks and may perform LAN administration and maintenance tasks.

The IT Specialist is expected to display good interpersonal skills as they will interact with colleagues from various departments and executive levels. They are required to listen to the end-user's technical needs, understand their problems and implement solutions.

Essential Duties:

• Installing and configuring hardware and software components to ensure usability.

• Evaluating and resolving computer, system, and user problems including compatibility conflicts, application operations, hardware malfunctions, and telecommunications problems, installing and maintaining computer hardware, software, and peripherals in the network and/ or multi-platform environment.
• Implements backup and recovery procedures.
• Assists in monitoring and troubleshooting of LAN and WAN system performance and resolving communications and networking problems.
• Complies with all local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and requirements
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Availability: Days, evening shifts, weekend rotations, on-call availability, and holidays.
